This programme is administered in the UK and France by the Northern Ireland office of the British Council. The scheme is reciprocal and offers an exciting and unique opportunity for UK students to spend some time in the France; and for students from France to spend time in the UK.
The bursaries provide funding of up to £1000* for individual students, aged 17-19, to undertake a study project in the France. The project can relate to any aspect of the French language or culture. Applicants can choose a subject matter that is not necessarily academic but that is of interest to them.
Past projects have included;
- The role of rugby in Sporting culture within south-western France
- La France au regard du droit international
- Comparison in the teaching of the Breton and Gaelic Languages
- Could the French 'vélib' system be a solution to city pollution?
The closing date for the receipt of applications is 31 January 2010.
Application forms can be downloaded from the British Council Website.
