Over 140 colleagues from the NE primary languages scene came together at Middlesbrough TLC on Tuesday 25th May 2010 to attend sessions with practitioners including Therese Comfort, Wendy Adeniji, Daryl Bailey and Hilary Phillips, Louise Harty, Jim McElwee, Christine Robertson, Clare Seccombe, Sarah Sharpe, Vicci Stewart, Brian Stobie, Gill Teal and Théâtre sans Frontières. The day, which was a collaboration between Links NE and Middlesbrough Local Authority, also involved input from a number of other Local Authorities, including North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Newcastle, Durham, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland. The day kicked off with a French song, sung by primary youngsters dressed as pirates. Sessions included: a drama session based on Marie Curie, Spanish Phonics, Developing international Authors, Ideas for Reading and Writing at KS2, and Integrating ICT with Storytelling.

Organisers were delighted with the evaluations, 100% of delegates said that the day was good-excellent (80% excellent) and 100% also said that the sessions’ content was relevant to them. Many thanks to all involved in this fantastic day!
