Working with Wiltshire Council since September 2009, Links into Languages have developed a series of language upskilling sessions for primary teachers. Language professionals from across the county have been trained to help teachers with their French or Spanish in order to deliver the Key Stage 2 entitlement for students to learn a foreign language.
Training takes place either in one of the Primary schools, or in a local Secondary school. Many of the trainers already work with the Primary schools, for example as a visiting language teacher or colleague from a neighbouring school.
Delegates have responded very positively to the courses delivered to date:
"Thoroughly enjoyed the course. A wealth of ideas to use within the classroom, thank you!"
"It was set at exactly the right level. The course leaders were very good and I really enjoyed it - I hope I continue to improve my French teaching."
