Goethe-Institut, the cultural institute of the federal republic of Germany, has a wealth of resources available for all levels.

Meet the Germans wants to explore what is typically of Germany and German society. Text and the city offers an insight to several German cities and popKultur project helps to teach about German music. These are just few examples available free of charge on the site. The latest material includes useful sites for A level. The Topics section of the site provides you with useful links to German-language websites on subjects relating to German society and culture. The topics are chosen with reference to the UK exam boards' specifications, and our aim is to provide fast access to websites which are well-presented and up-to-date.

Goethe-Institute offers mobility grants for teachers every year for their own language upskilling. The application for these grants is available from every September.

If you don't live in London you can still use the Library! Any member can order teaching material, films and other DVDs and books free of charge outside London. The Institute has got its own Language centre that hosts a variety of books ranging from methodology to audio-visual media and text books. To find out more, visit the Library's website.
