LinkedUp Award Scheme

Collaboration for creative learning

LinkedUp aims to fund over 100 projects across all the English regions

The next application deadline is FRIDAY 23rd APRIL

A new, simpler version of the application form is now available to download below, together with a revised version of the application guidelines. We hope you will find them more straightforward to work with, but if you have any problems let us know.

Please do get in touch to discuss your proposal before you submit it. The simplest way to do this is to complete an expression of interest form, or if you have a specific query, contact us on 0116 229 7454 or linkedup@all-languages.org.uk.

What is LinkedUp all about?

You can find out more about the scheme by browsing the tabs at the top of this page or downloading the application guidelines below. Essentially the scheme is about giving teachers time to work together to develop their ideas for language learning. The scheme will fund more than 100 projects to tackle the challenges we are facing and make a difference for teachers and learners.

The LinkedUp scheme:

  • funds a range of projects varying in size and scope
  • helps networks which already exist to take innovative and effective ideas further
  • encourages new networks to come together to develop projects
  • encourages collaboration between different organisations and sectors
  • includes a mentor for each project
  • awards an additional recognition, the Links Mark, to schools and other institutions involved in successful projects
  • connects with a range of networks to ensure that the results of the projects have impact and sustainability
  • publishes resources and ideas from each project in a national resource bank accessible to all teachers.

Download Issue 1 of the LinkedUp newsletter

Our first newsletter features a selection of projects that have been approved and are now under way. Printed copies of the newsletter will soon be available in the Links Regional Centres, or you can see an electronic version here..

You can apply at any time

You don't need to wait till the deadline to submit a proposal. If you send an application in advance, we will consider it and let you know if changes are needed.

Want someone more local to talk to?

Your Links Regional Manager will be pleased to hear from you. You can find all the Links Centre contact details on this website.

How to apply

The next deadline for applications is 23 April 2010

We welcome applications from primary, secondary and special schools, 16-19 colleges, local authorities, universities and other organisations. We encourage applicants to have a chat or email us before finalising their application - see our contact details below.

The application form can be downloaded below and should be returned by email to linkedup@all-languages.org.uk together with the mentor application form. All projects are now asked to nominate a mentor (see the mentoring guidelines for further information).  The application guidelines can also be downloaded below, and take you through the form step by step.

And some good news! You now don't need to collect signatures from partners before applying.
