Summary
“Web 2.0” was officially announced as the millionth word in the English language in June 2009. We linguists might argue that it is not actually a word, but whatever our feelings on the matter, Web 2.0 has a great deal to offer language teachers and learners, and it’s not just about the social networking applications which have been the cause of so much controversy. This seminar digs deeper into the web, examining a wide range of sites which allow learners to be creative with their language skills and share information safely. The session will be a mix of presentation and hands-on practice, with plenty of time for discussion and sharing ideas.
