The renewed KS3 Framework for Languages gives a practical structure to help teachers to secure this progression and this course will allow teachers time to consider it in context, to discuss ideas with other colleagues and to return to school with a clear rationale for how and why the KS3 Framework for Languages should be used.
The course is very interactive and practical. You will not be required to have any prior knowledge of the current or previous framework.
The session is split into two sessions:
16th March 2010 - 3-5pm
23rd March 2010 - 3-5pm
This course will be delivered by Anne Farren. Trained as a primary French teacher, Anne taught languages in London secondary schools before becoming an advisory teacher in Richmond upon Thames where she developed a primary languages scheme. More recently, Anne has worked as a general adviser in Richmond, with cross-phase responsibility for languages. Now part-time, Anne is also freelance in four other London boroughs. Additional assignments have included the development of training courses for teaching assistants (DCSF); foreign language assistants (British Council) and two e-learning modules on the KS3 framework for languages (National Strategies). Anne worked as project manager for the QCA schemes of work for KS2 languages.
