Name: Pippa Jacobs
Pippa Jacobs has many years experience teaching both KS1 and KS2 before becoming a primary languages specialist. She has been involved in a nationwide project led by the TDA on integrated language teaching. She has a language coach for some Oxfordshire primary schools and has trained teachers and student teachers. Pippa is an associate tutor for Oxford Brookes. Having a truly "all round" primary background means that although teaching languages is her passion, she understands the importance of all subjects on the primary curriculum, and also the pressures that can be brought to bear on primary class teachers when a new initiative is brought in. Integrating language and subject is a very creative way to resolve some of these pressures, and this has been of particular interest to Pippa, whilst also acknowledging the value of discreet language lessons.
