Understanding the context of the Key Stage 2 Framework for Languages and how it is structured is an essential part of preparing your school for statutory provision of languages in the curriculum. Having a good repertoire of teaching strategies and ideas that are rooted in the Key Stage 2 Framework for Languages is what most primary teachers want to develop.
Knowing how to approach teaching and learning in the strands of literacy, oracy and intercultural understanding is new territory for many teachers and the practical sessions of this course address this very clearly.
The course is very interactive and practical. You will not be required to have any prior knowledge of the Key Stage 2 Framework.
This course will be delivered by Alison Cave. Alison is a Primary Languages AST and CILT Regional Trainer. She has been a head of department and has taught French in KS2, KS3 and KS4.
Currently Alison is the Cluster Primary Languages Coordinator for a Specialist Language College. She advises Head Teachers on building capacity and a sustainable model for PMFL within the cluster. Alison teachers pupils in KS2, coaches teachers and delivers bespoke training packages. Alison regularly delivers PMFL workshops at conferences throughout the East Midlands.
