This one day conference is aimed at co-ordinators (e.g. of international links, MFL or citizenship) and senior leaders. It is an opportunity for colleagues to consider how best to develop intercultural understanding throughout the school by
• Integrating international links more fully across the curriculum
• Understanding the importance of language learning in developing pupils’ willingness to communicate
• Exploring global learning
• Maximising the potential to focus on other cultures through cross curricular working
• Considering the importance in developing community cohesion.
The day is a hands-on experience with resources, case studies and practical ideas from the local schools. The workshops include ideas for tying international links into the curriculum, using ICT and creating international links and global learning.
