Summary
“Moving on up, moving on out…”: the Luton Languages Conference is for primary and secondary teachers and subject leaders excited by the idea of co-ordinated teaching about languages and cultures in primary schools and on into KS3.
The programme includes
- Food: the way to a language learner’s heart
- Phonics for French teachers
- Big Wheel Theatre Company
- Playground games from other cultures
- The International Schools’ Award
- Puppets for language teaching
- A new approach to the KS3 language curriculum
- Arabic taster lesson
- Sing your way into languages
Should more than two colleagues from your school wish to attend the Conference, please ask Laverne to put additional names on the reserve list. Spare places, fully funded, will be allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from Thursday 9 September.
*Two places per school offered up to the capacity of the venue (100 participants).

The day will run from 8.45-16.00.Cost
A grant to cover the full conference fee of £100, plus up to £300 per school towards supply cover, is available to enable two representatives of every Luton school (all phases)* to attend. Please claim your funded places by emailing Laverne Bennett cpd@luton.gov.uk by Wednesday 8 September to register.
