Joan Dickie: Primary Strategy Adviser (Languages), Norfolk.
As a Norfolk based primary generalist and language specialist, in 1999 Joan became part of Cilt’s three year ‘Good Practice Project’, focussing on achieving progression in small schools and mixed age classes. She has subsequently updated these initial ideas for mixed age planning, contributing to part 3 of the Framework and the QCA teachers’ notes. With a particular area of interest in supporting generalist teachers to achieve good practice in Primary Languages, Joan has investigated how published resources can be used within mixed age rolling programmes.
