In its most recent report on languages, Ofsted noted that there was still a need to develop a clear framework for ‘spontaneous’ use of the target language, as speaking remains an area in which many of our pupils struggle. With the focus of the day firmly on practical, tried and tested strategies, you will leave with a wide range of ideas to help your pupils becoming more motivated and confident when speaking, which could lead to improved attainment at GCSE.
Practical sessions will show you how Group Talk can be used and how to implement and extend the use of Group Talk in departments. This includes a Scheme of Work for Group Talk and posters for the classroom to support this work.
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THIS EVENT. IT IS NOW BEING HELD AT THE TAD CENTRE, ORMESBY ROAD, MIDDLESBROUGH TS3 7EH
The course will be delivered by Steve Mulgrew. Steve is currently Director of Orangery Education Ltd. He was formerly Regional Trainer (CILT/SNS) for KS3 MFL programme and Regional Subject Advisor (ALL/CfBT) for new Secondary Curriculum. Steve has delivered training nationally and internationally on the use of ICT in language learning.
