The varied MFL experiences encountered at KS2 mean that teaching languages in year 7 now presents new challenges. In secondary schools, more than ever year 7 is now key to ongoing success and enjoyment in languages. How can teachers meet the needs of all learners in mixed-experience year-7 classes? This course will help participants take stock of current practice in their departments and decide on how to manage change. It will concentrate particularly on:

Martine Pillette
Martine Pillette is an independent Languages Consultant, Trainer, Author and Examiner who has taught and held managerial posts in five schools - each with a very different profile. In recent years Martine has been involved in a number of national initiatives through organisations such as CILT, ALL, CfBT and the National Strategies. Her work spans KS2-KS5, with a particular focus on KS3 in recent years as a result of her involvement in piloting the original KS3 Framework for Languages. Martine is one of the two Lead Authors of the renewed KS3 Framework.
