Using Short Film in the Languages Classroom

Summary

Film is a great way to engage learners and is an effective tool for developing
language and introducing students to cultural topics. The focus of this session
will be on using short foreign language films in the classroom, showing you where
to find them and exploring how they might be used.

Outcomes

You will:

  • be armed with short film resources ready to use in the classroom
  • have a better knowledge of where to find further film clips and information
  • share ideas on how to link film to the curriculum

Programme

Time Session
16.00 - 17.00 Introduction to film grammar and using micro-short film
17.00 - 18.30 Short films in target languages and to use them to support grammar and curriculum themes

Cost

No charge, but we reserve the right to charge a £15.00 non-attendance fee.
