Summary

A series of 5 workshops on using ICT in the classroom will be available and delegates will be able to specify their preferences.

The workshops on offer are:

  • Using animation to bring MFL alive in the 21st century
  • Inspiring Creative Teaching in the MFL classroom
  • Encourage spontaneous talk with flipcams
  • Practical Podcasting-from ideas to iTunes
  • eTwinning in practice

Outcomes

You will

  • learn the latest policy developments on integrating ICT in the language classroom
  • get hands-on ideas of various free tools to be used in the classroom
  • get a chance to create an animation in 90 minutes with transfearable tools
  • take action on spontaneous talk and creativity
  • shoot and edit film and see how subtitling works on moviemaker
  • take away material to be used in your classroom tomorrow

Trainer

Helena Butterfield is an MFL teacher and International Co-ordinator at Ian Ramsey CE School in Stockton-on-Tees in the Northeast of England.

Lisa Stevens is Primary Language and International coordinator at Whitehouse Common Primary School in Sutton Coldfield, and works with her local authority as a Language Coach supporting the implementation of the KS2 MFL Framework.

Sarah Hayes works as a Learning Technologist in Languages and Social Sciences (LSS) at Aston University, providing support for teaching with technologies, as part of the Learning Support Team.

Joe Dale is a CILT language Teaching Adviser, an eTwinning Ambassador, host of the TES MFL forum, former SSAT Languages Lead Practitioner, regular conference speaker and recognised expert on technology and language learning.

Oscar Stringer works in schools with students and training teachers, producing educational resources and speaking at conferences all over the world.

 

Cost

  • In order to cover the cost direct costs e.g the course material, speakers and refreshments, we charge £35 to attend this event.
  • Refreshments will be provided
  • Each participant will receive a memory stick containing the training material and uploads of the programmes used on the day
  • Once you have registered to the event you will be contacted by the regional administrator to advice you on session bookings
