Summary
A hands-on introduction to two freely available tools for manipulating large bodies of text (corpora) in order to extract and analyse examples of language relevat to language teachers - both specialists, and non-specialists. This session will demonstrate how you can find relevant, authentic examples from the internet using search words.
Outcomes
You will:
- discuss how to find appropriate authentic texts and use them with pupils
- use Antconc to create a home made corpus to use in MFL lessons
- use Webcorp to query the internet as if it was a corpus
- be able to create worksheets for different purposes and at different levels
